Best AMD Motherboard?
ANY AM2 slot motherboard can hold a Phenom X3. There are AMD-based boards that have the nForce chipsets but I prefer ATi CrossfireX because SLI sucks. With SLI you have to have the EXACT same brand, RAM, GPU and type of card. In other words, they better be bought at the same time so you know they'll be available. ATi CrossfireX only requires that the first two numbers of the card are the same (i.e. - HD 38xx+HD 38x+HD 38xx+ HD 38xx) As a result, I would recommend the Biostar TA790GX 128M. It runs two PCI-Express v2.0 slots that are CrossfireX compatible. If you want more power, get the MSI K9A2 Platinum. It has FOUR PCI-Express v2.0 slots that can run QUAD CROSSFIRE. SLI has a maximum of three.
