Texas drivers license question and new laws questions?

ok this is only for texans. we just got a bunch of new laws on driving and im 18 in 2 months and i dont have my license yet. im starting parent taught drivers ed and when i get my permit do i have to wait the 6 months due to the new laws or can i just test for my license in december?
