FDR's belief in Marxist theories about overproduction extended the Great Depression, as well. FDR deliberately slowed down the American economy, arguing that overproduction caused the Great Depression. In fact, it's just the opposite, and when the US went into overdrive during the World War II, the Depression ended and the American economy experienced a period of unprecedented wealth.
